forms.app
An easy-to-use & all-around form builder app
TL;DR
forms.app is the best choice if you are looking for a flexible, all-rounder form builder.
Overview
forms.app is one of the easiest form builder applications that we've tried.
It is also an all-around tool that will help you create any type of form in no time. Alongside forms, it can also be used to create questionnaires, polls, and quizzes. It has a clean and user-friendly interface, and the forms themselves offer a smooth and premium experience out of the box.
We quite liked forms.app as it does well on all fronts.
Ease of Use 5/5
forms.app really surprised us with its usability. But let's start from the start.
Onboarding is quite straightforward. We've chosen Google sign-up, and boom, we are in the dashboard. No surveys here, similar to Jotform.
You have 4 options to create a form: choose an AI form generator, select a template, import an existing form from other sources, or start with a blank form. We tried the AI option, templates, and import options. AI is really fast and outputs accurate questions. Templates are great too; they make things easier, and they do look good. Import options work decently, but could use some improvements. We've uploaded a PDF, and we've turned it into an online form. The questions and options were imported fine, but we had to change the field type of some of them.
The dashboard is clean. We'd had no hard time finding something. The illustrations on empty pages were a nice touch; it shows the small details are well-thought-out, too. Honestly, props to the design team; they did a good job with the overall aesthetic and UI.
The form-building editor is a drag-and-drop one. We've liked how they grouped certain features. It is again well-thought-out and makes it easy to find features. For customization, there are many options, from colors to custom CSS. We couldn't try the custom CSS, as it is on the Pro plan, but it is a nice feature to see for businesses that need that kind of flexibility. We also liked that themes have accessibility badges on them, so you know which one to choose for accesibility.
Features 4/5
forms.app doesn't fare badly on a feature-wise basis. It doesn't have the most features, but it has the features that count and make it easy to use them.
What we mean is that forms.app organized its features naturally. Oftentimes, the settings we looked for were right there, and other times, it didn't take long to find the feature we wanted.
Here are some features we tried and liked: the signature field, product listing, payments, email notifications, different layout options, AI insights, and PDF generation. There are also some features we'd like to try, but require a paid plan, such as custom CSS, custom subdomain/domain options, save and continue later, team members, and Google Tag Manager integration.
AI is well-integrated and doesn't stick out, like in most tools we are using daily. We believe that's a good thing. Instead of seeing the assistant constantly, it shows up as an option when you write questions, add multiple-choice answers, or view your responses.
The native integrations are plenty, with an additional webhook option for custom workflows. The platform also shows Zapier integrations for connecting to more tools. We couldn't find the API option for advanced integrations. We also wanted to try their live support, so we asked. API seems to be on their development plan for 2026, and they shared a link to their public roadmap, which is cool.
Overall, forms.app offers the features you'd need in a form builder and does so intuitively. But as there are tools that have more features, we deemed to give forms.app 4 out of 5.
Key Features
Lacking Features
Looks & Design 5/5
Form experience with forms.app is almost excellent.
It is the closest you can get to Typeform's form-filling experience. But there are some differences.
With forms.app, you have two options for the layout of your forms. The classic form view, where questions are listed in one or multiple pages, or as they call it, "List view"; and then you have the one-question-at-a-time layout, or "Step view". Both have their uses in different scenarios, and it is good to have them both.
The recall answer feature allows you to use people's answers in other questions. So if I asked your name in the first question, I can use your name in my second question, like "How Matt, what's the reason you're contacting us?". Typeform also has the same feature, and it does a lot to make your forms feel.. alive.
Overall, the form-filling experience is smooth and does feel polished.
Customer Satisfaction 4.5/5
According to reviews forms.app is a reliable and flexible product, and their support team seems to be doing a good job (4.4 on Trustpilot, 5 on Glassdoor).
What people like:
- Ease of use / low learning curve: Reviewers repeatedly describe forms.app as easy/intuitive, and say they can create forms quickly without being “technical” or design-skilled. On Capterra, the product’s Ease of Use score is notably high (shown as 4.7/5 on the profile page). Our experience confirms this.
- Forms look professional: Users call out professional, polished form design and say it improves registrations/outcomes or makes deliverables (contracts/reports) look more professional.
- Customer support: One of the recurring themes of the reviews is praises to customer support. Having asked them a few questions through live support, we can also say it is nice to be able to get in touch with a human so quickly.
What people don't like:
- Limits on free plan: Some users say they like the platform, but their free plan becomes limiting at some point. Some people wish there were another entry-tier plan for businesses that will collect low-volume responses but need to access the high-tier features for their forms.
- Complexity edge cases: Some users say that while it is easy to get started with the platform, it becomes less intuitive for creating advanced/high-complexity forms.
forms.app Pricing 4/5
forms.app's pricing is quite straightforward. It has four plan including the free plan.
What we liked about forms.app's pricing:
- On the free plan, you get 100 responses per month, a reasonable limit that would be enough for starters or some small businesses.
- It has unlimited form views, so no traps there
- All form fields are available on the free plan
- No limitation on payment collection and no commission
- Unlimited response storage
- Collecting up to 100k responses monthly is possible without a custom plan. Most tools we've seen require a custom plan after 10k responses monthly.
- 90-day refund guarantee, which we haven't seen anywhere before
- 50% discount for NPOs and Educational institutions
What could improve forms.app's pricing:
- Some tools offer more responses on the free plan; it would be nice to see that on forms.app too.
- File upload size is 100 MB per file for all plans. It would be nice to increase this limit on higher plans.
