Right from the start, Formplus feels functional but unpolished. The form builder gets the job done, but the interface shows its age.

Creating a basic form is straightforward enough with the drag-and-drop editor. The template library offers over 1000 options, which help you get started quickly. We couldn't find any AI form creation or form import options, which is surprising. The builder itself feels sluggish. Every tab change comes with a noticeable transition animation that slows down the editing experience. It's like working with software from 2003.

The calculator feature particularly stands out as needing better documentation. We struggled to set up basic calculations, and the interface didn't provide enough guidance. For a feature that should streamline data collection, it creates unnecessary friction.

On the positive side, the learning curve is manageable, and once you understand the builder's quirks, you can work efficiently. The help documentation is decent, and the chat panel is there if you like to talk.

Formplus offers a solid feature set that punches above its price point. The field selection is robust enough for most use cases. You get matrix fields, payment options, product listings, signatures, rating questions, and standard contact fields. It's not as comprehensive as Jotform, but it covers the essentials well.

The standout feature is offline data collection. Unlike many competitors that require constant connectivity, Formplus allows respondents to open a form while online, then fill it out and submit it offline. When they regain internet access and reopen the form, they get a prompt to sync their offline submission. It's not a fully offline app, but it's genuinely useful for fieldwork or areas with spotty connectivity. Important note: the signature field doesn't work offline, which limits its usefulness for certain workflows.

Form2Doc is another practical feature. It converts form submissions into downloadable Word documents, similar to PDF generation in forms.app and Fillout. The output looks basic but functional, making it useful for teams that need to create certificates, agreements, or formatted reports from submissions.
Payment integrations include PayPal, Stripe, Flutterwave, and Paystack. The options are solid, though not as extensive as Jotform's 20+ payment gateways. Payments aren't available on the free plan.

Conditional logic, file uploads, webhooks, email notifications, and third-party integrations via Zapier round out the feature set. You won't find some advanced features like data enrichment, partial submission tracking, or detailed drop-off analytics, but for most use cases, Formplus has what you need.

The forms created with Formplus look standard. Not outdated like Wufoo or Cognito Forms, but not modern and sleek like Typeform or forms.app either. They sit comfortably in the middle, similar to Jotform's aesthetic.

The forms are functional and mobile-responsive, which matters more than visual flair for many use cases. However, if you're building customer-facing forms where first impressions matter, you'll likely want to invest time in custom CSS to make them look more polished.

The builder interface itself needs updating. The design feels unpolished, with clunky transitions and a layout that could use modernization. It works, but it doesn't inspire confidence the way a well-designed tool should.

Formplus takes a straightforward approach to pricing that makes sense. It's not as expensive as Typeform, and the features justify the cost when you compare across tiers.

The free plan includes four team members, which is rare and generous. Most competitors charge extra for team collaboration or some lock it behind enterprise plans entirely.

However, there are a few significant limitations:

• You can't remove Formplus branding on the Starter plan ($25/month). For a paid plan, this feels like an oversight.
• Data filtering and exports are locked behind paid plans. This severely limits the usefulness of the free plan for serious work. You can collect data, but you can't really analyze it without upgrading.
• You can only create 3 forms on the free plan.

Compared to competitors, Formplus sits in the middle price-wise but delivers good value. It's more expensive than basic tools but significantly cheaper than Typeform or similar premium options.
